Privacy policy

1. Data controller

The controller of personal data is Prof. Maciej Marszał, notary running the Notarial Office in Wrocław, ul. Purkyniego 1/4, 50-155 Wrocław, Poland.

2. Data we collect

• Data provided in the contact form: full name, e-mail address, optionally phone number, matter type and description, and any documents you choose to attach.
• Data from e-mail correspondence, phone calls and WhatsApp messages — to the extent you provide it.
• Technical data recorded by the server (IP address, date and time of the request, browser type) in logs required to keep the website secure.

3. Purposes and legal bases

• Answering your inquiry and preparing a notarial act — Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract and the legitimate interest in handling correspondence).
• Performing notarial acts and statutory duties of a notary — Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in connection with the Polish Law on Notaries and anti-money-laundering regulations.
• Securing the website and preventing abuse (including bot protection of the form) — Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

4. Voluntary nature of providing data

Providing data in the form is voluntary, but without your name and e-mail address we cannot reply to your inquiry. Please do not send original documents or data that is not needed for an initial assessment.

5. Retention periods

• Form inquiries and attachments are kept for as long as needed to handle the matter; attachments are deleted no later than 30 days after correspondence ends if no notarial act follows.
• Documentation of notarial acts is retained for the periods set by the Law on Notaries and archiving regulations.
• Technical server logs are kept for no longer than 12 months.

6. Data recipients

• IT and hosting providers working for the office — under data processing agreements.
• Google Ireland Ltd. — for the reCAPTCHA service protecting the form and the map showing the office location. Both load only when you interact with the form or the map becomes visible.
• Authorities and institutions to which a notary transfers data under statutory obligations (courts, tax offices, the General Inspector of Financial Information).

7. Cookies and third-party tools

This website uses no web analytics, no advertising and no cookies for profiling or tracking. There is no Google Analytics and no social media pixels.

Only solutions necessary for the website to work and for form security (Google reCAPTCHA) are used, and they load only once you start filling in the form. The embedded Google map may set its own cookies once it is displayed — you can avoid this by not scrolling to the map section or by blocking cookies in your browser.

You can change your cookie settings in your browser at any time.

8. Your rights

• The right of access to your data and to receive a copy of it.
• The right to rectification, erasure or restriction of processing — except for data that must be retained under notarial regulations.
• The right to object to processing based on a legitimate interest.
• The right to data portability for data provided under a contract or consent.
• The right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, Poland.

9. Transfers outside the EEA

Using Google services (reCAPTCHA, map) may involve transferring data to entities in the USA. Such transfers rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision (EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses.
